IDEST Communication SA was created on 26 October 1990 by Jean-Paul DISPAUX and Odette LIETAR, both graduate translators. IDEST currently hosts a staff of 11 full-time in-house employees and a network of some 500 freelance professional translators spread all over the European Union and beyond.

Since 1990, IDEST has translated over 300,000 standard pages from and into all EU official languages in the field of EU Affairs at large, in particular for EU Institutions. Texts cover a wide range of topics from environment to fisheries, incuding RTD, agriculture and audiovisual policy, not to mention enlargment, the Euro, employment and social affairs, intellectual property, justice and home affairs.
